Our New House

Well, this space that you see here, is where the stables used to be and it will be our living room.
Yesterday we went to see the oak being placed. Then there will be wooden arches inside the structure. The door will lead to the kitchen and where you see the small window will be Peter's office. Its beginning to shape up after the stables were pulled down. The builder said that it was on schedule for October so maybe we will have a warming house party. Although we won't be moving over there until the spring.

Splendid, Maria! It's coming along nicely. And those windows on the left are very stylish.

That is kind of you Robert. We are really thrilled with the house building project and visit the site every week to see the developments. You are right about something.. want to know about what? I went to the art show to find that one of my paintings had sold. The buyer left his card and I noticed that he is a Managing Director for some fairs. Will post the painting later on..

Maria, I'm thrilled for you. Is that it at the top, the one with the road winding among the trees? That's a lovely picture!

How sweet of you. Yes, this is the painting that was sold today. The photo of the painting its not good because it has glass over the painting so every time I took a photo, my reflection on the glass kept beaming back at me. I should have taken the photo before it was framed with the glass off, but at least it gives you an idea. It was done in pastels on paper this is why I had to put the glass, so it preserves the painting.

It's very clever. You have so many different shades in there.

How did you do that one, Maria, because I don't suppose you sat in the middle of the road.

We sat on the side of the road. I took my set of pastels on paper and Peter took a book to read. We were both inside the car. It was a nice pic-nick. I just wish we did more of these pic-nicks. It didn't take me that long to do, because the beauty of pastels is that you are drawing at the same time that you paint. Each pastel is like a magic wand as each stroke in the right place, becomes a leaf, a part of a tree, grass or sky.

I'm afraid that's not how I'd do it. I'd try to draw each twig and each leaf, and the result would be a terrible, terrible mess. I'd probably make a hole in the paper.

Ha,ha, you have made me laugh now.
Its fun to paint. Whenever I need a pep its just good for me to open a box of paints, look at the colours and suddenly, life always becomes very cheerful.
I will try and post another painting since I haven't put up any in ages.

Well, you're a born painter Maria. I used to like those big boxes of watercolours that kids used to be given as presents, but sadly although I used to paint sometimes, I can't say I was thrilled with the results.

Hola Robert, I have to say I used to be very territorial with my water colours, I never wanted to share my box with anyone. Here is a Venice painting which is very long so not all of it came on this shot.
