Painting Shows
I have been working for two paintings exhibitions, one takes place on the seventh of Ausgust whilst the other one a solo exhibition is on the 10th and my kind friend Sue, is going to organize the nibbles, the wine and the invitations for the opening, I have managed to paint a small series of landscapes plus other paintings for the four walls of a room in my solo exhibition, which I'm hoping will do well. On top of that, I have a House Warming Party here at our home of which I'm organizing and looking forward to, plus my dear friend Marilyn and her daughter Ximena are coming to visit us later this month too, so August is going to be packed of fun and only fun for me. Then in September our friend Carlo is coming to visit us and we will also go and visit him in Florence so that is another exciting event to look forward to as well, then in November we are off to Gibraltar and we have already booked Christmas in a hotel in Oxford, so we pretty much, have got the rest of our year mapped out. As soon as I put on the finishing details of my last landscape, I will post it on the blog but now I must run !

Blimey, you're moving around more in the space of 5 months than I do in 5 years. Best of luck with the exhibitions. Better send Carlo a map!
Thank you Robert. I'm at the moment planning everything. The pictures are already framed and I have to take them this Thursday, then I have to plan the menu for the House Warming Party. I will have three or four different salads, two quiches, asparragus rice, meats, plus deserts like lemmon cake, triffle and possibly I might make a tiramisu and to drink, there will be wine, red, white, rose, and assorted juices. I'm looking forward to it all.
I had to Google tiramisu to find out what it was, and then I had to look up ladyfingers and mascarpone to find out what they were too. I'm sure it will taste great anyway.
Don't forget the most simple thing of all, Maria, which is a pot of tea!
Mmmm. true! tea with the dessert, good thinking. I just hope that it doesn't rain that day as I'm hoping to put some little garden tables in the pergola. Yes, tiramisu is an Italian dessert. Its good, it has also chocolate. It would be nice to put some chinese lanterns hanging from the pergola as it is not possible because of health and safety to actually set them off in the air like I would have liked to.
Yes I hope you have fine weather. With so many guests it's nice to be outside in the summer.
Don't forget to put a bit of music on every now and again. My favourite would be Mozart, but anything would be good except the 1812 overture which I don't think is a party piece. Hee, hee.
Ha,ha,ha the 1812 is more what I would like for my funeral! Yes, a little bit of music to set the atmosphere. I do love Mozart and I find that classical music is very soothing. I don't like loud music as I can't hear what people are trying to say. Today is the day when I take the pictures over to be hanged.
Best of luck with the pictures. Yes, these parties where you have to shout above the music, they're dreadful. I also don't like the music they play in some shops - some of it is so bad that I walk out without buying. Maybe that's the idea. Shops who target a particular age range can make sure they only get the people they want. A funny thing I heard was, in places where they get trouble from teenagers gathering together, playing classical music actually makes them move off. They just can't bear it.
Oh Really? That's weird. I thought everyone liked Classical music. I adore it, its so soothing its the best music in the world. At my friend's Sue restaurant they only play classical music and its a delight to eat there and it has been voted one of the best tea-rooms in the country. I know what you mean about nasty loud music in some shops it drives you away because the cacophony of the "music" is so awful the only remedy is to escape at the nearest exit without buying anything.
I think with the teenagers, it wouldn't necessarily have to be classical - any music that isn't fast and loud would do as well, e.g. Glen Miller or Frank Sinatra.
It's a pity that your friend Sue cannot target the classical music at individual tables, e.g. someone who ordered fish would find himself listening to Schubert's Trout Quintet, while another table could hear Bach's Coffee Cantata. Ha, ha.
