That is very kind of you to say, Victoria. When I can, I will post a painting that was done without greys and without blacks; with a modern electric blue light which reflects on the white complexion of the sitter, a young mother and her baby. This painting is a bit like marmite,(vegemite) you either love it or hate it. Since then, I have changed my tactic and just paint people with a traditional old fashioned flesh colour, although, the portrait of the M.P., was done still with this idea, of blues and mauves on the white skin tones by the artificial light.

Oh, that is quite wonderful. The mother's face, the baby's face....and the mother's head seems to be actually giving out light, rather than just reflecting it.

Maria,
I love marmite and vegemite, vegemite is better though .. but I do know what you mean Maria, either love it or hate it.
I have seen pictures like that so it is interesting to hear what you say about that method .. I did not think nor realise that there was no blacks or greys used.
I think your painting is excellent, and well done, my preference though is for traditional type paintings, and I do like strong colours and definitions in paintings.
Just personal ideas of course, as I have no expertise in art.
It is a great credit to you to have a portrait of an M.P. .. hanging in a public place, fantastic.
